"Dallas" to Get Indian Flavor

The often-delayed "Dallas" film version has gone through a lot of stops and starts. But, now, the director of "Bend It Like Beckam" and "Bride & Prejudice," Gurinder Chadha, is in negotiations to take the helm of "Dallas," Regency Enterprises/20th Century Fox's big-screen version of the '80s primetime soap.

"Feast" in October?

I've said it before, but I love the HECK out of "Project Greenlight," the Matt Damon-Ben Affleck reality series that goes behind the scenes of movie production. There have been three seasons, with the third producing the horror film "Feast." Word now has it that the film is going to have special midnight screenings this October, quickly followed by DVD release. The movie looked like it would be fun when seeing bits of it during "Project Greenlight." Sounds like we'll finally get to see the whole thing!

"Snakes" Gets Reshoots

The intense fan interest over "Snakes on a Plane" has sent the New Line Film into reshoots. Instead of the usual reason of firming up a sagging story line, these reshoots are being used to take the film from PG-13 territory to R-rated territory. Fans have latched onto the film, with fan sites, T-shirts, etc. Pre-release buzz for a film hasn't been this strong since "The Blair Witch Project." We'll just have to see what kind of a snake charmer the film will be.

Greengrass Talks "Flight 93"

Peter Greengrass, director of "Bloody Sunday" and "The Bourne Supremacy" had many challenges when it came to taking on the first feature film about 9/11. "Flight 93," to be released April 28, is a real-time depiction of the events of Flight 93. How will the film be received? We'll have to see. Greengrass is certainly an interesting director, but he has a lot of hurdles to leap over on this project.

Jack Black's "Nacho Libre" in Trouble?

Jack Black's crazy wrestling movie "Nacho Libre" may not turn out well. Early reviews indicate that the movie could be 25% good, 75% crap! The movie is the story of a priest who, in an effort to keep the orphanage in which he was raised from closing, begins moonlighting as a wrester at the local Lucha Libre club. The movie comes out in June, which may give it time to shape up. But, will it?

"Saw III" Coming for Halloween

For those who just can't get enough of Jigsaw, "Saw III" will be out this Halloween. The funny thing is that the announcement from Lions Gate Films makes it sound like they're still writing the darn thing! Maybe they should get that wrapped up and start shooting, don't you think? Just an idea!

MoveOn.org Gets Its Own Movie

MoveOn.org, the liberal media organization, is on its way to the multiplex. Marc Levin, director of the popular documentary "Slam," is working on the film, with a 2007 release date planned. While Levin says that he wants the film to be objective, the trick here is that MoveOn.org is funding the film. Conflict of interest, anyone? Should be interesting to see the results, though.
